New feature?

I feel inclined to post something about the fact that we've had a lot of reviews and give-aways lately.  Or at least, more than previously (which was almost never).  As the "infant bibliophile" broadens his interest in toys and games, I like the idea of writing about those interests.  And, honestly, give-aways tend to draw visitors to a blog (although whether they stay is another story), and that means our previous posts get a better shot at encouraging more parents to read with their kids, and to help them in choosing books their children will enjoy.  At the same time, I want to keep focused on the original goals of the blog.  So, I'm thinking a nice middle ground might be a separate feature, no more often than once/week, where I confine posts of a non-books nature, particularly posts about give-aways or other toys/products.

Here's where I need help: what should I call it?

I had considered a "mommy matters" feature at one point, but that would deal with things of importance to me, like grown-up books (I had written "adult," but that's a bit of a genre in itself and not the one I meant!).

What would be a good name for a weekly -- or sporadic, depending on my inclination -- feature of give-aways, product reviews, and/or posts by me to highlight some of the little guy's favorite things of a non-bookish nature?  Sunday Play Day?  Away from the Bookshelf?  I'm drawing a bit of a blank and would love some better suggestions.

Would you be interested in reading it, or would you prefer we stuck to all book reviews, all the time?

I really like Away from the Bookshelf - I think that is perfect! I will read whatever you post! I love give away and review posts.

Oh, this sounds great!

How about "Bookshelf Break"?

I like "Away from the Bookshelf" a lot too. I'm sure you'll find the perfect name for it!

I like Away from the Bookshelf, and I'm definitely interested in reading about other things - particularly since our little guys are the same age!

I'm a book gal myself, but can understand the draw of talking about things beyond the pages, too. What about My Other Building Blocks? All of the toys, games and imaginative opportunities all lead to learning and reading in one way or another.
