We have a give-away for a custom wall graphic from Uprinting.com ending tomorrow, and there is currently ONE ENTRY. Go enter -- pretty good odds of winning at this point! I think people are hesitating to enter because there is a $5 handling fee. But keep in mind that a 24" x 24" wall graphic costs $46, plus the $5 handling fee. I'm leaning toward creating a sort of collage (with 6-9 openings) of photos of each of his relatives reading to the infant bibliophile, perhaps with a quote around the outside or at the bottom, to stick above his bookshelf.
Here are a few quotes about reading that I've found in my googling today:
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go."
— Dr. Seuss, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!"
"Children are made readers on the laps of their parents."
— Emilie Buchwald
"So please, oh PLEASE, we beg, we pray, Go throw your TV set away, And in its place you can install, A lovely bookshelf on the wall."
— Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
When I got [my] library card, that was when my life began. ~ Rita Mae Brown ~
It is a great thing to start life with a small number of really good books which are your very own. ~ Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ~
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go. ~ Dr. Seuss ~
Do you have a favorite quote about reading? Particularly reading to children? I'd love any suggestions.
