You can read our full review of this here. It is a sweet story, and a sturdy, fun book. Now that the Infant Bibliophile is a little more communicative, I decided to ask him why he liked it. This is what he had to say:
"Because it has lion and doggie and animals."
Open the Barn Door (A Chunky Book(R)).
This was one of our little guy's first favorites. Its small size is perfect for tiny hands to grasp. Our full review is here.
"Because it has animals." Does anyone sense a pattern here?
Fold out pages show comparisons between bigger/smaller, higher/lower, clean/messy, etc. Our full review is here.
Why does he like it? Let's ask him. "Because it has a kitty." We did a related craft awhile back. You can read about it here.

My girls LOVE love love lift the flap books!
The first one on your list was one of my contenders for the third place :) I love quotes from IB.
Lift the flap books are great. I love the comments from your son.
Lift the flap books are awesome, but am I the only one with a bunch of books where several pages have lost their flaps?
My kids are hard on flaps...
This is why we don't own pop-up books.
PS We don't even want to talk about how lift the flap and pop-ups look after they've been in the library system for a while...
:D
We are big fans of lift the flap books. The Curious George one looks cute. Sunnyboy would love it. :)
Feed Me Books Friday looks great! Definitely going to join in next week. :)
My little guy likes lift-the-flaps with trains. And he has a Dora one he likes, too. We participated this week after reading your post.
Wow! Lots of comment love going on here.
Thanks for linking up a great post again this week!
The links for more info are really nice.
Have you read "Machines Go To Work" by William Low? It's Johnny's new favorite lift the flap (really more of a lift the page) book.
Thank you so much for sharing these titles. I remember my daughter, now 3, loved flap books beginning around 18 months; I'm looking forward to reading these titles with her and my almost 6 month old. We love Curious George too, :-)
