This was a huge hit. With a dump truck, a farm setting, and an early reader level that suits his current abilities, it was predestined to be a favorite and didn't disappoint. It was only after we had read it about 10 times that I did a double take on the author's name - Julie Andrews! Yes, that Julie Andrews.
So I looked for other Dumpy books at the library. This one wasn't an early reader though, so it felt long for him. He did enjoy it, but we have only read it a handful of times. Cute for an older child.
And, oops, I'm not sure we even made it through this one before he insisted that we return it on our next trip to the library. We'll try again in a few months.
I had read this one before, but not since the Bibliophile could read along with me. Like all Mo Willems books, it is clever and funny and pretty much perfect. We both enjoy it on every read.
At the suggestion of our librarian, we read one book from this worm series - not the one pictured, but "Drip, Drip, Drip." They are small books (like Bobs Books in size). Eh, not a favorite.
Mo Willems, but for a younger crowd. So cute! The Bibliophile laughs out loud at the conclusion of this book, and can't wait to yell/read the words himself. We must track down the other books in this series! Actually, going to add these to my hold list right now: Let's Say Hi to Friends Who Fly!, What's Your Sound, Hound the Hound?, and Time to Sleep, Sheep the Sheep!
Sorry for the lack of Bibliophile input on this post. He is fast asleep, after finally giving in and closing his eyes at 11:45PM.

We read Mo Willems series and loved them. I think we read all the books available in both series - Anna finds them very entertaining.
We have the Sheep the Sheep one right now. BIG hit!!
The man is a genius, I tell you.
We love all of Mo Willems's books!
You might like The Cat on the Mat Is Flat and How Rocket Learned to Read, two of the books we mentioned on our new blog, litlad.blogspot.com (only one post so far).
We just read How Rocket Learned to Read. Like JUST now. Super super cute!! Mister wouldn't sit through the whole thing, but your bibliophile has a better attention span!!
Love your blog but your book cover photo/links to Amazon are not displaying in Firefox or Google Reader. I opened up your page in Internet Explorer and they are displaying there. Don't know why it isn't working but just wanted to let you know that it wasn't.
@Kate thanks so much for letting me know. Weird - I'm using that blogger thing that does it automatically. I'll look into it. It shows up fine in my google reader, which is even more mysterious. Is anyone else having problems seeing them?
